Kansas State Fair 2012

Every year, Hutchinson hosts the Kansas State Fair. It is an extremely busy week for the town
but everyone here loves it and we do too! It was the second week in September this year. It actually goes on for ten days. There are all kinds of events, including concerts, that take place throughout the week. We went a few times and had a great time. I took Vinny on Monday afternoon to see all the animals. I expected him to love it and that he did. He just loves animals. Monday evening, daddy was able to leave work early and we went to the demolition derby and indulged in some yummy fried fair food! We had a great time at the derby. It was daddy and Vinny's first derby and they both loved it.

Sunday evening, the last day of the fair, Susan, Abby, Mandy and I all took Vinny back. This time we enjoyed the animals, a great Sea Lion show, and again, some yummy fair food!

Daddy & Vinny along with Jayden, Susan, Abby and John who also went with us.

The boys watching very intently.

This is the Grandstand where many of the events of the fair take place.
Including the tractor pull, car races and great concerts.

My favorite "Grand Champion"

Susan & Vinny in front of all the rides. You can't see it from this picture but
there are a ton!

Vinny trying to give kisses to the goat. He actually succeeded several times.
Yuck! Oh well. :o)

He was loving this.

Two of the stars of the show. They were awesome and Vinny loved the show. However,
he was a little unsure about them being so personal. Ha!

Since one of our favorite parts about the fair is the food, here is a list of everything I can remember that we had. There are so many things we didn't even try. It would take going every day to try it all.

Pronto Pup (their own version of the corn dog)
Fried Cheese Curds
Fried Dill Pickles
Fried Oreos
Turkey Leg
Funnel Cake
Curly Fries with Cheese
Bloomin' Onion
Elephant Ear
Dippin Dots

That list sounds terrible. I hope, for our sake, I didn't forget anything. :o)
